60 Volunteers Remove Close to 600 Lbs of Trash From Radio Park

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, 60 Intl. WeLoveU Foundation volunteers cleaned Radio Park in Fresno, CA. In total, they filled up 43 garbage bags weighing 592 pounds and rolled ten tires out of Radio Park.

The cleanup, in partnership with Beautify Fresno, achieves WeLoveU’s Clean WORLD Movement and Fresno Mayor’s Million Pound Challenge. Mayor Dyer announced the initiative as a way to motivate residents to remove more than one million pounds of litter from Fresno’s streets, highways, parks, alleys, and trails by December 2022. Currently, the City of Fresno has removed almost 300,000 lbs of trash.

“This was a positive and encouraging event for our community and local area,” said Johnathan Burrows, a local volunteer. “Knowing that we have folks like the WeLoveU Foundation coming out has made this area feel safer and more welcoming.”

In the mix of volunteers were families with children, spending their Sunday cleaning up Radio Park. All in all, the volunteers worked well together to clean the park and surrounding streets. They did their best to revitalize the environment and improve the park’s appearance.

“It was a great opportunity to see what I can do for my community. A simple act of cleaning up our neighborhood was a thought that never crossed my mind,” explained WeLoveU volunteer Peter. “I thought making a difference had to be doing something big, but I realized how heartwarming it was to see the park once the cleanup was done. I truly hope everyone who walks these streets or uses the park feels a mother’s love.”
