Sunday, November 19, 2023, marked WeLoveU’s cleanup at Hanover Parkway in Greenbelt, Maryland, with Power Home Remodeling. Volunteers from WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling (PHR) met to remove scattered garbage along Hanover Parkway. Using reach extenders, volunteers could collect bottles and loose plastic deep within the bushes, some of which had been there for many years. Working tirelessly for nearly two hours, the group filled 34 contractor trash bags and disposed of other disposable items. The weight of the garbage was estimated to be 650 lbs.
Hearing From Our Friends at Power
Tangela Jones, a volunteer and a PHR remodeling consultant who inspects and remodels homes, stated, “I think [the cleanup] impacts the community in two ways. One, people drive by, and they honk, wanting to see what we are doing, and usually when you show one act of service, another person leads with another act of service.” She continued, “We love WeLoveU! And we’re just thankful that we’re able to get these opportunities because Power wouldn’t know about it if WeLoveU wasn’t out there. And I’m not only thankful for cleaning up the community but blood drives and disaster relief. I don’t know how many people know of WeLoveU, but everybody should know. So, I’m just thankful to have a friend to hold a trash bag so that I can throw some trash in it.”
Nick, a PHR customer development team leader, complimented the attitude of the volunteers. “We’re all connected in many different ways. The world is very connected, and it’s necessary to care about the planet and the community, and it all starts here. Corporations have a lot of pull in the world, so they need to realize that when they care, it emanates throughout the world and makes the world a better place. Thank you for being here with us. I feel a lot of love just from those connections that I made last year and being able to continue to develop relationships and meet new people. I really appreciate what you’re doing, and keep it up!”
WeLoveU has worked numerous times under inclement weather and harsh cold. However, the group was gifted with a pleasant 58-degree day. The WeLoveU Foundation thanks those who participated in the cleanup to benefit the environment.

This was my Second year in a row joining a cleanup with WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling. Once again, I had a great time and created new memories. I can’t wait for next year!
