WeLoveU & Power Home Remodeling Clean Fort Hale Park in New Haven, CT

On Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., 44 volunteers from the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (WeLoveU) joined forces with 11 Power Home Remodeling (PHR) employees to clean Fort Hale Park in New Haven, CT.

It was a brisk, overcast day quickly warmed by a fusion of two organizations gathered with determination and energetic smiles to bring hope to an under-sourced community by reducing waste and litter that threatened the New Haven community.

The cleanup is part of WeLoveU’s Clean WORLD Movement to promote a clean environment. It was a concentrated effort by WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling carried out in five locations: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

At Fort Hale Park, over 300 lbs. of waste was collected. Volunteers collected plastic bottles, paper trash, food containers, and raked leaves. Both parties were delighted about the results and experience working together for the greater good of the environment. “It’s beautiful when you can come out to a community like this and clean up the area and make it look better than it was before,” said PHR Quality Insurance Manager Fred Payen.

Payen also shared, “It’s definitely something I want to be part of in the future,” speaking of his experience volunteering with WeLoveU. Andrew Steven Boyd, director of customer development at PHR, commented it was his second year volunteering with WeLoveU. He plans “on coming every year, and anytime I can do it, I’m going to do it.”

The Fort Hale Park cleanup concluded with a group photo. WeloveU looks forward to partnering with Power Home Remodeling on future projects and serving their communities through volunteer work such as environmental cleanups and beyond.

  1. Events like this are so exciting! Even in frigid weather, there are still those who are so considerate of others. We need more of this

  2. This is great to see. Would love to see more partnerships like this and more organizations to volunteer to give back and improve the environment/community!
