The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation partners with one of America’s top hospitals to host a blood drive in Boston, Massachusetts.
There’s many things one can accomplish in thirty minutes’ time. And this past Sunday in Boston, around 60 people used that time to save up to 130 lives by donating their blood.
The International WeLoveU Foundation hosted a blood drive on Sunday, November 17, 2019, in partnership with one of America’s top hospitals, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This is an addition to the two-month health campaign the WeLoveU Foundation launched this past summer. During that time span, volunteers in more than 50 countries participated to address global blood shortages.

Registration in the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care dining pavilion and health screenings in the Blood Mobile opened at 9 a.m. Hospital personnel joined in the effort to save lives through blood donation on their breaks. The local WeLoveU volunteers were also accompanied by volunteers traveling from Maine and New Hampshire.
While waiting for their turn to donate, participants walked through the series of panels illustrating the works of the International WeLoveU Foundation locally and worldwide. Each activity and project is catered to the needs of each community and aligns with the 17 Global Goals.
I just want you guys to know that it’s so important to thank you all for what you have done. It is amazing to see young people taking on initiatives like this that helps anyone—whoever comes into our hospital and that is in need of blood. It’s a magnificent turn out and is greatly appreciated.
Joy Metellus, Nursing Director of Pathology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital

One by one, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile filled up quickly with donors. After donating and recharging with snacks and juice, participants enjoyed the rest of the festivities. Many took group photos showing their bandages, proud to have made a life-saving difference for patients in need.
Altogether, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation’s blood drive in partnership with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute helps fulfill Sustainable Development Goal #3—Good Health and Well-Being. The Foundation and its volunteers will continue dedicating themselves to serving the Boston community through volunteer service activities and life-saving projects such as blood drives.

I am very thankful I was able to participate and help donate blood! So much love and energy from everyone. Best blood drive ever!
Amazing turnout! So happy many were able to join! Thank you WeLoveU for putting this event together to help our global family 🙂
Terrific event! From the hospital staff to the volunteers, everyone was so happy and cheerful! It helped me realize how good it is to donate blood. Though you may not see the one benefitting from your donation directly, the mere fact you may save a life or two is all the more reason to donate. Great job everyone!
I’m a WeLoveU volunteer and I’m so happy and thankful that we were able to do this collaborative blood drive with the Brigham & Women’s hospital and Dana Farber Institute. I’ve been working at the Brigham for about 5 yrs now and this is the first time WeLoveU does something together with my job. I was able to invite my co worker Madelein, who also donated blood. I hope that we are able to do many good works together with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and WeLoveU Foundation in the future. I believe that through this kind of unity we will be able to make a huge impact on fulfilling the UN’s mission in making the earth a sustainable place to live for all 7 billion people! Thank you to everyone who participated and a special thank you to the wonderful staff who helped make this all come together!
Life is indispensable and the greatest gift one can give! This event hosted by young volunteers is inspiring and beautiful! Great work We❤️U! The smiles of the volunteers show their sincere hearts to give life through donating blood.
I’m also very thankful to take part in this blood drive! I’m so happy to be part of the WeLoveU Foundation. The unity and love of the Chairwoman and members is so empowering as we work together in unity to make a better global community. I can’t wait for the next event!
Thank you for always thinking of others and for your generous hearts! The best gift you can give is life, thank you for initiating this partnership!
WeLoveU volunteers are true heroes for selflessly donating their blood to save the lives of others. It is not too much to say that the most precious thing in this world is life. However, we are living in a time where there is a global blood shortage, which means that unless action is taken by the people who are able to donate, then those suffering from different types of cancers, illnesses, or unfortunate accidents may not be able to get the blood they desperately need in order to live. For this reason, my sincere congratulations go out to the Chairwoman of the International WeLoveU Foundation Zahng Gil-jah who established this wonderful organization in order to give hope to people in despair around the world.
